Guess The Price

Bringing reality into the classroom is so important.  Language is something we use in the real world and so it is incumbent that teachers link their lessons to actual use in the wider world.

One nice example is a – Guess The Price activity.  it’s easy to do.  Go shopping and buy some ordinary, everyday items to bring into class (realia).  Then set them on a table or if teaching online show them to students. One by one, get students to guess if the real price is higher or lower than the price you the teacher state. 1 point if correct. Who gets the most points and is the best shopper!

It’s a fun, “real” game using vocabulary for items in the real world. Much like the Guess The Lie icebreaker game!
