This is very much like the famous quiz game, Golden Bell. Play until one student standing who can then challenge the teacher.
Students stand in a line. The first two in the line face off. The teacher shows a flashcard or gives a language prompt. The first student to answer wins and goes to the back. The loser sits down.
Continue until one student left who then can challenge the teacher 3 times. 3 chances to beat the teacher and win.
