Don’t do the dull, regular word search, word find, unless absolutely necessary. Why not do one that promotes more learning? Here is how.
Give each student a blank word search. Depending on your wordlist, theme, unit of study – get students to fill in and make their own word find. They write the words to find at the bottom of the page. Important *** Also get students to draw a picture beside each word to find. It will help them remember the word and learn the word and also show they understand the word. A great mnemonic device.
Get students exchanging the word searches they’ve made and racing to finish!
