Logical Inferences. Cause and Effect.

A fun way to elicit vocabulary from students is through a First – Then activity. It’s based on a fantastic kid’s book – First The Egg.
It’s really easy to play. Prompt students with “First the X” and then students must repeat it and finish it off – “First the car, then the insurance” (for example). It works for all levels.

You can make up a bunch of flashcards to use as the prompts and also do it as a writing activity, with students sharing and comparing their responses. See an example of this in this workbook for the activity.
