Video based lessons needn’t be complex. For language learning they can be as simple as providing students with a simple task while watching and letting them “take in” and negotiate the meaning of the language in the video.
Prediction is one such way. Just have students watch. Pause and then have them predict what will happen next. Pause. We’re they right? Then continue.
Vocabulary. Have students note different categories of vocabulary. Then pause and see if the students were correct in naming the food, transportation, action etc …
