Buzzword Bingo

This is a fun way to recycle vocabulary and to get students actively listening and paying attention in class.

  1. Create a buzzword bingo sheet containing the vocabulary, expressions and things you want students to listen for during your lesson. Give each student a sheet.
  2. Teach like you normally would, using the phrases on the bingo sheet occassionally. Students listen for them, cross them out and try to get bingo – 5 in a row. After that, go for superbingo – the whole sheet crossed out.

It’s simple, easy for teachers to design and fun for all. Make sure to have a prize for the winner! Even if it is just a round of applause or the first to exit the class.
