One of my all time teaching activities has been the use of Restauraunt ads and up coming events from an English language Newpaper-if not local you will have to make a simple map to help them out.

-first  What kinds of food do you like? ^-language and nationalities

OK. Where can I get a fish soup? ^- foods and intro prepositions-places/ locations

Have copies of adds and have them search, underline and highlight your vocabulary targets

Get them to ask eachother !

This activity can be expanded used weekly or take up a whole class.

Then the great final leap. Have them write some adds for fake events/dining places.

And you areoff and running again!
