This is the perfect icebreaker and getting to know you activity!
First, write 3 very simple sentence prompts on the board. For example something like this….
1. I like ………………………..
2. I don’t like ……………………
3. I can ………………… well.
(change these depending on the level of your students).
Next, hand out a piece of paper and ask students to write down the sentences and finish them off by writing about themselves.. The teacher also makes one.
Then, when finish, crumple up your paper and put it on your desk. Everyone does this. When the teacher says go – it is SNOWBALL FIGHT! Let the students fight for 30 or so seconds.
Finally, pick up a snowball and unravel it. Students read each outloud and the class tries to guess who it is.
Lots of fun and just “throwing something” breaks down barriers and really helps create atmosphere for future classes.

That’s really cool. I’d use more sheets of paper to make it more fun! Also, after one person asks some questions, the snowball can go on, then another person, then another fight, and so on… hagarenz
